When Daji installed her home on the prototype of the Bespin installation, she immediately designed several part of the factory to be her personal library. Removing everything that was electric, the empress put a lot of the novels and scrolls that she has collected.

Stair Pris, being one of her seconds - and her friend as well - has a personal access to those ancient libraries. At first she did not understand the choices of Daji.
Why books over a e-reader? The answer didn't last to come in fact, during one of her insomnias.

Silence.
A complete silence.

No slight buzz of one electric device. Of course, the lack of gravity pods was kinda problematic, but the good ol' ladders were doing her jobs to grab every book here and there.
But why the novels? Specially of the other cultures? After a couple of novels Stair began to have another answer.

The understanding.
The dream.

Those codes behind Magdalene's tomb and the zealous side of the humans, the epic journey of one Jedi searching for the Tantalus base, the scheme to make an ancient war, the philosophy of Schopenhauer, a forbidden love triangle, ... Every novel seems to give her a single piece of a wide puzzle, the one to understand the human kind, their fears, their dreams, their hopes.
The task was so wide, so difficult, there were so many things to read! But it may be the greatest mission she accepted to do.

And to think that Daji read them all a long time ago. No wonder why she's the boss after all!
