Yeah, if was staff too. I am friends with a few staffers and I hope he won't be coming back to staff with that kind of attitude after discussing it with them.

I hope not. It's staff's job to make sure everyone's having a good weekend and everything runs smoothly. Not to be hateful and ruin the experience for people.

Hey, it's us! :D There does seem to be an unusual amount of furry hate at ACEN. ^_^;; Only a few things were said to my face, but I'd hear things in passing or be told about them later. Kind of frustrating.

No problem! <3 I know, at first it didn't bother me but now it's getting old because I hear it so often. I don't care for certain cosplays or screaming high schoolers, but you don't see me being mean or rude to them either. @_@

It's hard to put them in place when you're in suit; if I were in suit at a convention, I would have someone next to me get hyphy in their face about it at all times so people know not to fuck with us.

I usually do this at the anime conventions for people because it's so fucking annoying. Two wrongs don't make a right, but it's needed sometimes. Getting made fun of by hivemind Homestuck/Brony/4Chan kids are the worst because they have no sense of individuality and you just end up pitying them for not having their own opinions.

Exactly. We normally have a great handler who stands up for us, but she was sick with a cold all con and only came out of the room for the masquerade. We were on our way to masquerade judging so she wasn't with us. I want to spend all year making a really complex suit for the masquerade next year, but I don't want anyone to purposely damage it/step on the tail, etc. I'm also not sure how strict ACEN is about the "objects sticking over 6'' out of a costume" - I want to make this dragon-like creature that has wings and a fairly long tail.

There were Warhammer 40k costumers that had had huge banners and a bunch of guys with crazy swords; just have a good handler, I think?

I'm not entirely sure, I've never costumed or fursuited myself nor have heard about it too much.
