Even in the game, Gex had been addicted to television, to the point where what's left of his family had to move to a 'different' house that did not have a television. What's even 'better' in my opinion that it was fueled by depression. So after several years of not being called back to star in another game, his depression takes over, and with the load of money he already had on top of the game profits, he would be able to live on his couch without even moving a finger. That is, unless it's American House Wives, then he will move his finger to change the channel.
Not getting another game must have really hurt him. Poor Gex has had his eyes on that television 24/7 and has never got off that couch for twelve years.
