My troll hunter, Inix, now at lvl 70. All of the gear on her is loosely based on in-game gear to some degree, but the only thing she actually does own are the SureStrike Goggles.

I use very smooth bristol because (a) I like very smooth paper, and I can get it in the bristol paper, and (b) since I work a lot with markers, bristol is ideal in how it soaks up the marker but doesn't have bleed through.
Most bristol you buy is also available Acid-free, meaning pictures are not going to fade or warp in thei color as easy (you still shouldn't sit them in the sun or whatnot, but unlike regular paper that isn't acid-free they don't have a natural substance in the paper that will break down inks over time.)
It's not that expensive either; I buy 9x12 pads of 20 sheets for around $8-$9. You don't wanna do practice sketching on them of course, but once you have an image decided on that you'd like to pull from a sketchbook, bristol is nice for it.
