Naa search and rescue is usaly left to Civil air patrol, so might be looking at up to 12 hours for help.. even in a non national emergency time. once no plane is found.. their think its a false alarm and move on...

An aircraft ELT (Emergency locator Transmitter) interesting design for the inertia switch too. You could really stir up a hornets nest with that one :P
