This is Shoal. He's cool. ...Sort of. He sparked into my mind very clearly one or two days ago and instead of sitting on it and letting the idea fade out, I did it. At the cost of other things but oh well... Shoal is an interesting colt, he's sorta what I am, sora what I can never be. He was born in one of the small Caribbean islands, very very far removed from the lifestyle and ideas of Ponyville, but as much pony as any other. His hair matches his surroundings, at the bottom the indescribable blue of 500 foot water, fading up to green reef water colors, and then the white sands upon where he trots. He doesn't smile as often as me. That's sorta not much smiling
Shoal's special talent is.... wakes. That's what his cutie mark is, a wake. He can ride them, make them, sense them coming from boats and any swimming pony or other creature passing through water. When he bobs in them he feels comfort. When he rides them, he can extract every bit of energy to slide down them.
...It's not very useful of a talent, but it sure fits the idea of a talent. He lives on other skills, but at the end of the sunny arid days, he stares at the copper-glinted beaches and looks out at the waves and wakes, and he rides them with his eyes. He can feel them, the rides they offer and the strength they sap. Though rarely he lets on about it, he enjoys riding them and watching them.
I love this idea, this pony, the character, and the fact that I can tell so much of his story from memory, from life. But during the stream for this... I got spooked, and frustrated at people trying to help me, because I couldn't understand how to use a tool. And everything I like, even the lovey music I had on, all went to buck because I... just locked and kicked back at people 'cuz I didn't understand something...that I understood perfectly 2 hours later. I so thick. /)_(\ ugh. And... I had the wrong idea streaming. I thought it'd be all fun, but... I don't know anything...
Shoal doesn't follow the MLP aesthetic perfectly, I just wanted to draw equines a bit differently. Enjoy, I hope you like....:> more coming, with better detail on this guy.
