Still nomad, though. Which is odd, because I tend to stay where I'm put.

Any chance you could take a pick of the outside of the tent? Just wondering how large the room you have this tent in is.

Judging by the way things are securely mounted to the sides, I'm guessing that there is no 'outside' to the tent. The tent sides are in essence wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling tapestries that get nailed through to the plaster underneath for hanging shelves/smaller tapestries/unicorn skulls, etc...

Unicorn skull on the wall, I wonder how Our Alica would react if she woke up in a room like that.

I'd never thought of a tent themed room...it is fantastic - I was thinking "is that....now it can't be....a unicorn?" :D

The hell it's not. It's a portion of a fiberglass horse skull with a fiberglass horn attached. I bought the thing YEARS ago at a decorator store that has since folded its tents and stolen away --if I can use that analogy with a straight face.

Saw it. HAD TO HAVE IT. Like that.

I'm also really digging the tapestry (?) with the oasis scene, with the camels - sure I've seen sort of similar in various guises whilst I was in Dubai :D
With both of my parents now leaving, theres' a chance they'll be getting rid of a few things - thinking we had lots of little knick-knacks and arabian pictures and brass odds and ends - I could keep an eye open for anything interesting, if you liked?

Anything that is Egyptian themed. That brass-topped table? It has hieroglyphs all over it...

Darn, I definitely used to have a couple of the touristy papyrus things - was a total sucker for egyptian things, their gods (esp. Anubis) ...and now...well *cough* ^.^

I reconize that chair, it looks similar to the one Alica sat in in the first cover of the first "Xanadu" series.

Also, having a craft made skull as something to decorate one's bedroom seems creepy to me.

I've always been fascinated by bones. Dunno why.

Bones are interesting to me in that they help support a living creature's body with the muscles around them to help move and give more weight to the body. Plus you have to admit that give a creepy atmoshpere to any gothic horror, murder mystery or action adventure deathpit. When I was a kid my parents had a little human skull made entirely of wax or the like with a candle in it, which they would bring out of Halloween. It had some red stuff around the edges. It creeped me out of my skin usualy whenever I look at it.

Saw both pictures. And while it might not be to my tastes..

The gold one I made. The monkey one is made out of fabric swatch for custom upholstery. Can you image having monkeys all over your couch?

That green thing isn't a pillow. That's a carry-bag for my crystal ball, which I embroidered myself.

Plus the red brocade and the two with neon green satin you've got on the bed! :)

You have a crystal ball? Excellent! The carrybag is lovely. It took a few minutes of gazing for me to realize it's a dragon. :3
