This is Extremely Old Art, done in 2005.
"This is an Ocean dragon, AKA a Sertik. Sertik are a dragon that evolved to live in the oceans. Their wings are mostly used for balance and for short bursts of speed while swimming. The average Sertik can live for thousands of years, however, due to global warming and poaching, the oldest living Sertik is a measly two thousand years old. The two in the picture here are Ayla and Jondalar. Ayla, a hatchling, is practicing her hunting skills and her sire, Jondalar, Is 'Waving' to the viewer, but in reality, he is giving a fair warning to stay away from his offspring. The small number of hatchlings that are born to a mating pair also contribute to their declining numbers, as the Sertik mate only once every 10 years, and the number of offspring that are born are, on average, 2-3 young."
I want to expand on this species since I actually sort of love them?
