Another Ceramic sculpture, this one I'm not so fond of lol. I was just on a kick with sculpting and drawing chonqings (a chinese dog breed), and the kimono type clothing is really arbitrary. My friends have loving dubbed this "Scooby Christ" lol. This was made back when I was still feeling out how to use clay.

I think it's really nice! Certainly has that spiritual atmosphere about it, although i'd be lying if I didn't say Scooby Christ was the most hilarious dubbing of a sculpture ever! I think it's the minimal use of color and the sort of.. fish scale patter on the bottom half that really get me though :)
Hmm. I really like your ceramics. They miss accurate anatomy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, especially considering how these were more experimental pieces for you. They remind me a bit, of old traditional work. Yet, they have this sort of eeriness to them, because of the dark, hallow-looking eyes... and this guy, because of his lack of hands! lol But I do really like it. The painting you do is very fitting and well-done for them. His robe is simple, but pretty. :)
aww I'm really glad you like them, I really appreciate the kind words. Fur Affinity seems to be full of people with great input, Im glad Orca Owl got me on here! Anyways, yeah, I really like to exaggerate anatomy, I feel that anatomical perfection doesn't always allow for full expression of an emotion or idea. I actually have some more recent ceramic work I've done that really doesn't abide to anatomical rules lol, so I guess its progressed since this piece? /rant Thanks again!
