Aka: "Fun With Clip Art!" ;D
Ok, ok, don't laugh, but you only turn 40 once, and I wanted a special bird-day cake to celebrate. :D I've been trying to order a swan pond cake to serve at my party at Confuzzled, and the cake lady was having a difficult time understanding what I wanted, so I did up this concept art for her. Hopefully, she doesn't have a heartattack when she sees it. XD It's based somewhat on these two similar cakes:

I used clip art from Shutterstock for all the flowers and plants (and thus they are far more elaborate than what I expect her to make, but they get the idea across), and the swans and candle are actual cake toppers I'll be ordering from UK shops. The pebbles (also clip art) will be made of candy or chocolate. So if she's actually able to make this, then whoever comes to my party will be able to see it, and of course, nom it. :D The resin swans I'll be taking home to add to my collection. :)
P.S. I dunno why, but I think my fave part of this whole thing are the little koi fish shadows on the sides, and the one peeking up under the lilypad on top. <3

Thanks, hon! :D I've always wanted a beautiful, custom, birthday cake that I designed myself! :D Even better would have been a Swandog cake, based on one like this: http://www.elitecakedesigns.com.au/.....an%20Cake.html but I think that would have been tooooo difficult to explain! This would make a beautiful cake! I'd definitely love to see some photos of the real thing if and when that happens. (Also, I'm currently employed as a cake decorator...and as beautiful as this is, I think I'd have a small heart attack if a customer were to bring something like this in. :P)
