Shifting Stratum: Forest Walk
The first chapter of the new competitive CYOA story in which four friends find themselves playing a strange board game that seems to warp reality and change their lives. In Shifting Stratum the players find themselves shrunk down and forced onto the actual board where they must work their way through a very real world. Transformation, shrinking, age regression, magic, mystery. They must face these and more challenges as they explore five stratum and try to clear the game and win their freedom.
While the game is primarily four players and I've used four players to make the majority of the decisions through notes and IMs, don't think for a moment that you can't vote on anything just because you're not a player. Left three things for the audience to decide at the end.
If you are a player, you have no decisions to make right now, as you made them in the game, but feel free to post in the comments to banter, talk, beg for one of the votes, or beg you don't need it, or maybe talk if you think someone else deserves one of the bonus transformations.
And I would like to thank each person who is playing right now to help make this happen and give them each a shout out.

Before all else, I must say this is a very interesting Concept.
Now, For my votes,
To Walker, I say, Should go the age restoration, Primarily since he has Style, Secondarily because Adult Multi-tailed foxes are cooler than chibis and Thirdly because Flitchard has the best Avatar (woo, Sableye!)
To Brian Should go The Form of Fennec. Primarily because he Likes big ears, Secondarily because a Feral Baby isn't terribly Threatening. (though, To be Honest, Neither is something Three inches tall.)
To Yoshi Should go the Fifty points, as Consolation, As he has not the means to restore himself to his Proper age. May the next Shopkeep have the means

Well, I could tell you, or we could wait and see if someone takes that route on a second play though. <3
Having said that, if interest doesn't persist enough for a second run through, I'm going to eventually post a complete compilation of all cards, all events, special situations for certain spaces (like the pond being the Fountain of Youth) and basically everything anyone would need if they were just curious about how it works or if they wanted to run the game in a role play session or something.

Erica: That was poor luck at the end, but at least I still have my cool, cool wings. I kind of miss my fluffy skunk tail, though, but I don't think I can complain; I mean, only my species changed, really. I mean, I just get to have a better 5th birthday party! One with a bouncy castle, maybe, and some ponies, and a magician, and no clowns!

I mean, I only lost one year, and kindergarten was fun. This time, I'll go through it again and get all the Golden Alphabet Stickers that Miss Applewood gives out for finishing worksheets fast! And I have this strange idea for a prank, but then again, pranks can be kind of mean.... And I don't know how to get that much blue glue at my size.... I mean, the bottles are taller than me!
Oh, um, how should I encourage fans to use the other votes? Um.... well, I like my wings, and I did spend points to make Yoshi a lion, so I don't want that to change right away. *she looks guiltily towards Yoshi.* And a kitsune is like a fox, I think, so, um, that leaves Brian. So, then... that means... Fans! Vote for Brian to become a fox! Then Walker and Brian could be like brothers! Or cousins, I guess! Then everyone will be happy!

That one, was something that actually almost happened to one player. Mostly in that if Yoshi had shot Brian a round later.

That's a bit my fault for not developing a mechanic for it before posting the board and writing the story. So for now what I'd do, is the board itself would provide some useful magic to help them until they got off that path.
Example if you shrunk in the fountain, then a say a leaf would come floating around they could climb onto it and float to the end of the path.

Ah man, what can I say? This is delightful so far - I really appreciate you going through the time! I know how much effort you put into it...but I do hope you're able to get a little more sleep coming up! You reallllly sounded like you needed it aaand we don't want your days suffering! Definitely had a blast so far, can't wait to see what else is in store!

I vote for the people in most need of the bonuses.
So I vote Erica to get the points, Yoshi to get the age restoration, and Brian to get the species change and ferality -- I mean, he's walked through this entire stratum manipulating the other players without getting any sort of payback.

bonus points; -walker- his inital form of choise was a reptile. i like this and initially found him favourable may the points assist him to perhaps assist him in gaining such a forum once again and maybe for even after the game
free age revert. -yosh-, being in the pond and loosing his years gradually for so long has given him plenty of experience in the type of change. reverting this should set him back up fro n his unfortunate luck.
bonus transformation -brian- out of the 4 living souls competing, he has experienced the least events first-hand , this is a game of transformation, everyone should be able to change and experience the many forums available, this will give him a bit more to play with
and a question, what would happen to a player if they... loose all of their age till it hits a minus? i doubt they'll cease to be, so maybe...they temporarily be some sort of spirit, /coloured orb being and unable to do much butt roll until they hit a change at witch point they regain a body to a set age or something?

Since Erica's so stupidly behind, she deserves the points and the age restoration. Yeah, she has the potion, but this is Calex we're talking about. The age won't last.
As for the transformation... uh, I'll go with Yoshi. I want to wipe out someone's wings to be a jerk ;p, and I want the kitsune form to stick around for at least a little bit.

W-why not let one of them get the age restoration bonus? More, um.... what was it I heard Brian say that one time... 'more bang for your buck'? But.... *she begins to talk to herself, confused.* ...why would bucks make noise? Especially bangs - all the money I have makes little jingles and clinks, especially when tapping them against each... *she looks up* Er... sorry, I, uh... started talking too much.
