Photo albums, hardly see them in use recent years.

Ignoring the implications of certain elements of the picture for the moment, what I finally present is a family photo of Arly's little clan, represented now in full furry glory, mostly detached from their beginnings in Everquest but roughly ending in the same positions.
Phillon was a mighty bull from the northern highlands of a quaint little village, home to many of his kind. Oddly enough, he was the shortest of his clansmen, towering barbarian builds that they were, and decided to venture the world to expand his mind beyond that of his families understanding. In his travels, he met a reindeer in uniform, Ranewen, and despite their obvious differences, the two grew attached. When Ranewen returned with Phillon to his homelands, the soldier was met with resistance as they thought her unworthy of the bloodline. Ranewen found herself wrestling each member of the family into submission until finally competing against the strongest, Grammy Yuka, who promptly threw her off a cliff... Climbing back up, Ranewen continued the fight and found herself victorious and her and Phillon married. Not long after, their first daughter was born, Arlyurl. Raising their precious daughter together, they found she had an adventurous spirit just like her father, who gave her full support in going out on her own to live her own life, which needs little other explanation. While she was away though, the two however had another daughter, Tsubomi, whom through what both parents supposed was a generational skip in genes was born a unicorn.
Years later, when Arly finally returned to see her family, she was surprised to find her newly discovered sister already had a child of her own as well. Ranewen, displeased with her eldest daughters unspeakably long abscense, vowed to keep a tight eye on her, and ever since the two have managed to argue on nearly every front.
Returning to the element obviously featured, even the picture itself seems to be a few years old, and as the tears slowly fills her eyes, Arly misses the father who supported her spirit, even as she returned decades later. Regrets that she had not the wisdom to spend more time with her family well within her, but she promises herself to be more aware and care on her father's supportive knowledge.
For those who vaguely watched me start this piece, my apologies it ends on a sour note. But for all of Arly's history, I saw no way of avoiding it. Even as I write this, I'm tearing up thinking of my own father, who Phillon is heavily based upon. Sorry.

Wow amazing work in all aspects really, I love the small details on each of the characters and just how well they all fit in the picture. I love it, fantastic work!
Story is simply amazing and very well written making me wanna know more to be honest, although now I am just a wee bit sad.
GREAT WORK ARLY

speaking of which, I was originally planning to make this a huge group picture, with Chichi and her group, the Pokemon group, etc etc, other possibly vaguely mentioned characters..... but that sounded like too much work, so in the end, I even kept myself from drawing Tia's kids in this piece... minimalized as possible, and I'm happy it came out the better for it :P
A lovely picture, and a lovely accompanying backstory. Sad as the loss of her father is (I can relate with her, and it seems you, on that front...), it does seem to enrich the piece. If it's as you now envision their story it needed to be there.
I can't help but wonder (as I am sure I missed it, if you have explained it before) how a bull and a reindeer could have had a unicorn daughter, and where some of the rest of the family's diversity has come from. If nothing else, it makes them a more interesting family.

sorry its late response
as for Tia and Vin, they represent each of their fathers, Arlyurl having slept with a draconic before having relations with a jackrabbit herm (Vie is pictured elsewhere)
as for Tsubomi, in the family line there was some latent genes from a unicorn down the line and they just retriggered when Tsubomi was an egg. its also because of this that Vin has his single horn, as the draconic dna reactivated those same genes with the mix of magical DNA... with Tsubomi's daughter there, you can see the gene is being watered down again already.
