This is the logo for a fictional hockey team in my universe, the Cleveland Rockers.

Sports actually plays quite a big part in my universe. For example, my character Ruth is a big fan of her hometown Boston teams, and Cynthia's former boyfriend Vic de Veeres eventually plays in a pro football league. Originally I had my characters involved with real teams, like the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. However, I discovered I had a penchant for making up cool team names, and decided to go with wholly fictional teams.

The Dallas Tycoons (in Spanish "Los Rockeros de Cleveland" and in French "Les Rockeurs de Cleveland") play in the Cleveland area. Their main team color is burgundy and their secondary color is gold. The name refers to Cleveland's famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Yeah, I know there was a short-lived WNBA team named the Cleveland Rockers... but this is a name is deserving of a team in the four major associations. And this logo just looks great for a hockey team.

I made this logo superimposing an electric guitar over a silhouette over a silhouette of the state of Ohio. It's tilted so that the neck points toward Cleveland. Come to think of it, the neck crosses Columbus and leads all the way to Cincinatti... maybe they should be called the Ohio rockers.

But come on, Cleveland Rockers just plain sounds better!
