When I arrived to Michigan (just visiting), he had his new iPad, and Garage Band on it.
I love music, I play a little piano, and I asked dBear what he wanted me to play for him, and he chose Candle on the Water from Pete's Dragon, which is a movie I know he grew up with.
He quickly found some sheet music on my phone, and a few days later, while I was alone, I hooked up his midi keyboard to his iPad, and started playing.
I was originally simply going to just play the sheet music directly, and just surprise him with, "Look, I'm playing this song for you."
But I eneded up remixing it, which is always fun. :)
I have to say, when I first had him listen to it.... I couldn't have asked for a better reaction. His reaction was perfect, and made it all more than worth it.
But it felt like a sketch, I didn't realize how big it was gonna end up being, so after his reaction, I wanted to only make it better.
So here's the "finished" version. :)
It was meant as a little special thing to make him smile, and I'm glad and I feel lucky to have gotten to see his reaction.
So I thought I'd share it with you guys too. :)

Yeah, the original really plucks my heart strings, despite n ever having seen the movie. But I sorta almost live it vicariously through dBear and hearing stories :) Which is nice.
Thanks a lot! The ending piano sequence, I originally played by hand, but I have to admit, it was slightly tweaked in Garage Band, just to adjust a few 8th notes ever-so-slightly- back on precise tempo. :)
Thanks! Good relationships with people I think produce amazing results in life. :)

True that. You can say that again. I only remember parts of the movie (Saw it when i was little... can't remember the whole movie). Hehe.. well, there you go. If you almost lived it.. then dBear is quite the story teller ^^ very nice indeed.
You're quite welcome. Hey, it's not that bad. You still did the tweaking by yourself, didn't you? So, that's still your doing hehe. A very heartwarming output right here.. =3
Welcome. Again, too true. ^^ Did you learn piano through classes and stuff?
