"Currently being crafted by hollowing out a mountain deep in the northern lands of Methkendalm, Ul'ruq is the macabre home of the scattered but frightening Ta'Ruq people - a bat-like race whose society once thrived on the backs of slave labor. Once rulers of several realms and masters to the Polkari, their society was crushed against the noble Istaar and their staunch allies, the winged Ayanod and the once tribal Kimku. With their empire forever crushed the Ta'Ruq were nearly hunted into extinction by the other races of the world; those who survived that time have become scattered in the winds all across the world and hide in deep places most creatures dare not investigate.
With little hope of ever truly rebuilding their once great, horrible society, the Ta'Ruq "eek" out their existence in these damp, bleak places where they study their foul magical arts of spiritual manipulation and domination and will occasionally venture out from their strongholds to scour for food as well as capture any unsuspecting victims for experimentation and future slaves or even as said food."
