M-miette? That's the name of one of MY rats right now! (Technically, Miette Bijou ValJean.) Same color, I think. Looks like yours his black capped like mine. He cagemate Anthy Orihime Daidouji frowns upon the distinct lack of "blue" hooded rats.

Miette was a black hooded (although her backside isn't visible here). I had a french theme going for my rats, for the most part (Rue, Miette, Ciel, Bijoux, "Louie" was short for King Louie the 14th, although she was a girl, Brie, etc).

Avalyn Rosewood aka. Rat-a-Rat (white with birth defect tail with all the bones fused together)
Eclipse (Japanese Hooded aka Fancy Rat)
Hilda (white lab rat that grew to a monsterous size but was meek)
Diamond (dumbo)
Lucrecia (albino)
Yuki (hairless)
Tarja (white that never grew past adolecence size)
Freja (Halfbreed wild rat)
and Daemion (Dumbo Hooded)

Yea, fitting 13 in one image was tough, I actually drew most of them seperatly on tracing paper and played around with the positioning until it looked right.
