Didn't mean to post another WIP so soon, but I got some pretty good work done on it this afternoon. Getting ready to do a comic stream, so I'm setting this aside for now. Plus my fingers are sore :-P

Thanks! Uh, I think that's probably.. 4 hours, plus or minus. Wish I'd paid more attention to that. I'm doing one of Veronica next, so we'll see what that takes.
Yes, it's over a frame of 3/32" aluminum welding rod, which is stuck into some holes drilled in the aluminum plate it's sitting on. The clay I'm using is very hard and may hold itself up if it was pre-molded to this shape. The process of working on it would easily knock it apart.

I'm not sure if they've got Michael's craft stores where you are, but I saw a book in there called "Sculpting realistic figures in Polyform Clay. If you find a copy it explains the process of building fingers, hands, arms, legs, faces and clothes. You don't need to buy the book, but leafing through it might give you more ideas that you can apply to your characters.
Warning. Do not Mix styrene plastic with raw or in some cases cured, unfinished Sculpy. It exudes a solvent that can melt polystyrene plastic. (I learned the hard way when I had some custom Gundams dissolve into goo.)

Huh, very interesting. Now if I ever mess with Sculpy, you know darn well it's going to meet some styrene, lol.
I was actually at a Michaels about the time you left this comment, coincidentally. Didn't even think to look for sculpting books. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that. Thanks for the heads-up!
