Rhynchophorus cruentatus, aka red palm weevil. Most seem to be more covered in orange markings, but some can be more black, like this guy. Recently took down an old, decayed palm in my yard, and found one of these guys in the aftermath. They're devastating to palms as insecticides can't get rid of them and it's nearly impossible to detect them in the crown of the palm. One of the biggest weevils I've ever seen, though. This guy was also infested with mites under his head. Really hoping they won't get to my other healthy palms :c
