OMG AN ART
This is a drawing I did a while ago, trying to sort of redo Mikomi's design yet again. Basically I scaled back her tail a bit, made it more natural, gave her more hair and a different cut (think of japanese princesses, lots of hair), and made her face a little sweeter. I've also more or less given her a story. She's really evolved since I first drew her when I was 13. She's not really my fursona any more. She's her own person with her own family, friends, hopes, talents, etc... So, here's Mikomi's Story.

Setting: Any sort of fantasy setting where both royalty and furries are allowed.
-The Uncia Kingdom is located high in the snow peaks of the mountains (Whichever mountains are in our story, doesn't matter). The city is carved from white stones like marble, so that it glows bright white like the snow that falls around it all year except for 1 or 2 months in summer. It is a kingdom of grace and opulence that is often a target for neighboring, less-endowed nations. It may be considered a utopia, if one could overlook some of the sordid exchanges among the royal court and underground.

Species: Uncia Snow Leopard
These are a unique species of snow leopard with a few very specific traits. The most notable is their ability to shape-shift into a large serpent with a distinct resemblance to eastern dragons. This ability is attained when the cat reaches adulthood. Some of the Uncias are also gifted with ice and illusion magic, though this is uncommoon. There are a few physical traits as well: gold, glowing eyes that lack pupils are a trade mark of the Uncia people. In addition, the coat color of the Uncias is always tinted with another color (such as pink or yellow, or in Mikomi's case, purple). Pure white Uncias are very rare and it is considered a good omen to have one in the family. Fur color follows family lines. For example, the color purple has been in the royal line for thousands of years. However, pure white seems to be a random anomaly.

Appearance: Mikomi is an anthropomorphic snow leopard who stands about 5'9" with 15 lbs of long, wavy, deep-indigo hair. Her body is soft and trim with wide hips and a medium bust. As a political figure, it is very important that she keep up with her looks at all times, sometimes spending hours on her hair and fur. She is almost never unprepared for a speech for a photo shoot. Her coat pattern is that of a regular snow leopard, but has a lavender tint to it. Her eyes are a stark contrast, being a bright, glowing gold. Her normal attire will be anything well-made and ornate. Uncias are known for being a little eclectic when it comes to fashion, so she may be seen in fantasy gowns and armors or more modern dresses with lots of accessories.

Dislikes: rudeness, strangers using her informal title, dragons (they scare her), cooking, cleaning, untidiness, hot weather, not knowing what to say, being surprised, spending hours and hours with her personal tutor, being touched

Special Abilities: Shape-shifting into a serpent (common to all Uncias), but no magic talent at all. Her brother, however, is very skilled with magic; a fact he likes to remind her of frequently.

Best Traits: Classy, generous, intelligent, and kind.

Worst Traits: Head-strong, judgmental, impatient and vain.

History: The Uncia Kingdom has been lead by a long and illustrious line of queens (the maternal line is always followed), and Mikomi is the next in line. In her adolescence, she was rebellious and sought to forge out a new path for herself. Her first diplomatic mission was to a semi-nomadic tribe of barbarian-esque amazons that share the Uncia home of the snowy mountains. Queen Altair agreed that the Brekk tribe would make useful allies in the event of war, so Mikomi was sent to live with them for the greater part of a year. During this time, she forged strong bonds with the tribal elders and began to respect herself as a cat of noble blood. Though her stay with the warriors of Brekk is long over, Mikomi is still careful to visit them regularly.

Today, she has accepted her place as heir to the throne and is usually found participating in some kind of activity pertaining to her training. This may be holding court, studying politics and history, or traveling to the capital of possible allies to create new diplomatic bonds.
