NIZE HAT!!! And NIZE VEZT!!!
Happy snap of Yr. Humble Servant at today's OMRA (Ozarks Model Railroad Assn.) train show in Springfield, MO, resplendent in his conductor's cap and Sugar Creek MR club vest, both of which are profusely embellished with vintage motorman pins and badges courtesy of
EOCostello.
The red Lionel locomotive? Oh, that'll be the next piece of motive power in the Razorback Traction Co. roster.
"But MMM," I hear you cry. "That's a steam locomotive, not a trolleycar!"
My only reply is a low, evil chuckle.

This tempts me to dig out my own Märklin HO trains and blow the whistle on my little Dining Table Express
-much to the entertainment of Shiro, one of my cats who loves to watch the trains pass (he turns his head as if he's counting the passing cars), but thankfully don't see the trains (yet) as prey to on which to pounce...

Am curious, what got you into the model train hobby, or whatcha call it. I didn't know there was much interest in trains. I know there is one that gets put up here at the local mall each Christmas...same set, just the signs are changed to reflect the current stores in the mall and property. I think I have a video I took of it last year (lost the year prior to that), just never uploaded it anywhere...meant to, but kept forgetting to.
I admit, some train sets are quite neat, I mean they whole thing up and assembled, with land and such surrounding the tracks.,,but the only time I ever hear mention of someone with a fancy for trains, is on the Simpsons (Rev Lovejoy is a train fancier)

pacific electric once mounted a trolly pole on the tender of a steam engine to operate its signal system, and the swiss even experimented with electrically fired steam!
my personal inclination is toward on board solar trickle charging of stored energy propulsion. (i once entertained the notion of on board nuclear as a power source. though for electric traction rather then steam)
