Fact: Hay and the fuel/vehicle needed involved with hauling it is likely far more expensive than just filling your tank D:

My hoss eats 120 USD worth of groceries a month, and if I ride him in traffic there's a chance the car will spook him and I'll become road-hamburger. I don't use 120 USD in fuel per month anyhow, with TWO vehicles at these prices. So my horse is a huge waste of money ;o;

details details :P feed is a bit cheaper, we have the room to rotate 2 pastures out so during summer months only 1 bag of sweet feed a week is needed

Yeah, I've got my horse on a 1 acre lot and the hay is Coastal, so of course without supplementation with grain it ain't worth shit! I can't wait to be up in Dairy country, where Alfalfa is 3 USD a bale instead of 30! I miss having minis, since they're so damn cheap to maintain!

yeah true. the cheadest ive seen up here in the past week was 3.77 per gallon. how is it down there?
