Meet Cinnamon, the Na'vi / jackrabbit hybrid -- by sheradon
sheradon is a good friend, a sweet girl, and an awesome artist. Among other good things, I suspect. I recently was talking to her 'bout some stuff, mentioned Cinnamon, and behold, a commission happened. ^_^In our chattin', I showed her
fydbac's design for her, and we realized that if Cinnamon was part Na'vi, she needed some USB tentacles. Two, actually. I recently read an article that was talking about the creature design on the planet, and although it's true that everything BUT the Na'vi was designed by one guy, and the Na'vi was designed by some other guy, there may be some method to the madness that is the difference in tentacle counts. See, most (all?) of the animals have two tentacles, but the humanoids (Na'vi) only have the one, the braid. They're also the only quadromorphic animals on the planet (the rest being hexamorphic .. or whatever the right term is for 6-limbed). So there's this theory that the Na'vi aren't actually native to Pandora. They're engineered by aliens who arrived on Pandora, and decided to change their way of life, downloading themselves into the planet's computer, so that....Right, well, in any case, if Cinnamon were a native to Pandora, perhaps she should have two USB tentacles instead of one. But if that's the case, she needs 6 limbs, and .. that would be weird. >.>
My current theory is that Jake was a closet furry, and when he was transferred into his Na'vi body, Eywa caught a glimpse of the concept and thought, "Hey, that's an interesting idea," and created some experimental critters to see how it goes.

That's my story so far. >.> Yeah, I know, it's not much to go on. quaylak is gonna help me with some story concepts. :)
Oh, and GLOWIE! :-P I'm a sucker for the glowie. Only natural to have glowie on Pandora, right? Keeps the darkness away. I wonder if there are any dark places on Pandora...

omg glowie paw prints.. i would like to think their lack of a second tentacle would be something akin to evolution.. the lower intelligence creatures.. or lower on the food chain as example of horses to people in intelligence.. though i do believe horses are far smarter than most of the humanity that i've met *not trying to start a flame war just an example* the lower animals would be able to use both to pass genetic material aka breeding more of the species at once and maybe one for specifically for control.. where as the Na'vi have the one which is mostly for mating to a single lover or mate or connecting to a single animal like a pack mule would only carry usually one person... just a thought.. and no i don't think they were original to the planet, probably been there for some time, but most likely seeded there after a loss of another more suitable place... sorry, you caught me in a thoughtful mood...

good point, hmm, i always got the impression that it would be an almost coral like transfer of a cell or cells through the tentacle of some sort.. and maybe the organs were purely use based, breasts for feeding and removal of wastes and birthing.. they really made it look rather.. enjoyable to connect so i'm not too sure really.. i would assume the genitals would be usable for sex but they put such emphasis on the connection made that i wasn't too sure.. damn, now i'm contemplating the mating and reproductive habits of a fictional race.. i would also like to guess that they could mate while connected and that they could share the feelings with each other to raise it to another level of bliss.. *rubs chin methodically*
