This was the "gateway" Porsche for a good number of future American fans. The 928s front-engine config and not-so-damned-foreign overall look helped ease uncounted American sports car freaks into Porsche's arms. In a lot of ways this car saved Porsche's bacon.

Heh, in last night's Crash Course with Richard Hammond, there was a red '79 placed in the path of the tank he was driving. I turned the channel because I refused to watch and see if it got crushed or not. The tank commander made me rage though, the way he reacted about the car. Obviously not a car guy, unlike Richard, who was like, "I don't wanna crush that!"

Yeah I saw that too. But it was to test if he would follow the tank commanders orders no matter what. It reminded me of the time I went into the police academy. One of the first questions they asked me is if I had to shoot a family member would I. I'm not a police officer if that tells you anything.

Something tells me they do that with anyone training to use a weapon like that. Tell them to do something they would normally refuse.

A 928S I'm a big fan of Porsches My favorites are pretty much any 911 Carrera But, I like all Porsches, and this one is no exception^_^.
