Went to open painting night at the school and chose to do a watercolor of the model. I felt so out of place - I was the only one painting with watercolor and I was the only one painting like unrealistically. I felt like the teacher hated me and what I did. >_< Ugh anyway I had fun so I'll definitely go back next week.

That's awesome! I have a friend who is doing the same. She's a great teacher in all other aspects but she has a super bias on style since she worked at Disney for like 12 years or something like that. I have two classes with her this term so if she didn't like it - I'll be hearing about it. XD
I think that's probably a good mindset to have, what kind of level teaching did you want to do? As long as you know all the techniques and theories you'll do just fine as a teacher! :3 I had to teach some comic making classes quite a few years ago and I totally didn't know what I was doing back then but it seemed like all the kids had fun XD
Oh really cool! :D Have you ever heard of this website? http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/f.....uredrawing.php It's a really great figure drawing tool, almost all the teachers in my school make us do like ten figure drawings a week from there if we don't go to the open drawing nights. It's really good since you have so many options for time and models and such.
Some teachers I've noticed over the years hold an extreme bias to certain "styles" or approaches to art in general, and if you do something out of their comfort zone or familiarity, they either love you or hate you.
I'd pay no mind to their opinion unless it's constructive. This looks freaking awesome. Feel good knowing you were the only one willing to work outside the box, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that :)
