The Foxhound breeds are loyal, pack oriented dogs that can do well with various pets if raised with them. They can be prey driven, and escape artists which follow their noses(sometimes into danger), but with enough exercise and understanding of hound behavior, are great pets. I prefer the heavier English Foxhound myself, but the swifter American Foxhound is still a joy to see at a show.
