Well according to the first appearance of Birdo in Doki Doki Panic the manual describes him as "He thinks he is a girl and he spits eggs from his mouth. He'd rather be called 'Cathy.'" and in Mario Kart Double Dash it's "[Catherine] appears to be Yoshi's girlfriend, but is actually his boyfriend!?" So by that description Yoshi is a boy. So yes they are both Males, but if you want to be politically correct you would identify Birdo as a girl because that's how she wasn't to be identified. Either way in terms of the law they wouldn't be able to get married in my state which sucks to high heaven in my opinion. Poor a sexually reproducing reptilian things.

....yes.... quite.... well I'd guess that Yoshi would watch the eggs while Birdo goes out to get food..... by shooting eggs at it.... using your potential offspring as weapons..... these are brilliantly designed creatures
