DARE often does Warhammer 40k themed quickies, and feeling inspired I had her cast my jackal-self as a tech priest of the Cult Mechanicus.Certainly eerilly alike my normal self, no? *grin*

Ah. Well, its highly doubtful that it is gonna happen, at least in the way you mean.
Ever since the Squat fans started flame wars on the Games Workshop forums (back when they existed) about wanting Squats back they have become a somewhat forbidden topic and eventually were officially removed when a hive fleet devoured the Squat homeworlds.
Other than that, there is a reason why the Squats didn't get their own Codex back when they did exist (around 3rd edition) is because the designers couldn't find a way to do it properly. Everything they did was either too much like Imperial Guard or Space Marines, making it not worth it to create a completely new codex, or a combination of both, which made them too powerful. Kinda like the Eldar Harlequin Codex the tried to make.
However, the Squats did return in a while that you might not have heard of. Namely as the Demiurg. A race of spacefaring, small humanoids, technologically advanced, very apt as mining, living in clans and having a burning hatred for Orks, ever since they lost their homeworld to them. They can be found in the Battlefleet Gothic background, especially for the Tau (who bought their ion weapon technology from them) and ForgeWorld even made two models of Demiurg ships.

Sorry about this little speech. I used to work for Games Workshop and had to explain this quite a few times :)

Ah. I had figured that it was more along the lines that they couldn't get them to be somethign other than 'Dwarves. In. SPAAAAAACE!'. That always seemed a bit goofy to me.
I am aware of the Demiurg, which I am looking forward to in the new Tau codex. I hope they will be pretty cool, even though I don't play Tau. My brother does play Tau, but he's really pissed off that they are adding more races to the Tau book; he thinks that the Tau are just boss, and the other races are crap and are stealing unit spaces from them. I rather like the idea of a coalition army, composed of different races, but you know, different strokes and whatnot.

They are acutely less fragile then most marines, having replaced most of their weak organics with the purity of metal, giving them built in armor plating and a reinforced constitution that can exceed even that of an Astartes. Combine that with some of the best custom-crafted armor in the Imperium and a Magos decked out for war is nigh unstoppable.
