I kind of have a weird obsession with cockroaches... they are the epitome of everything filthy, worthless, horrible and ugly. And yet they are the most resilient, oldest unchanged creatures on the planet. To me, they also symbolize worries and doubt. Which goes hand in hand with Kafka's "The Metamorphosis".
I don't really like roaches, but they are something I have to live with, in the same way I have to live with self-doubt and worry.
