So I've started making my first fursuit with the help of my ever-so-lovely friend
blarmajin who has so graciously let me use her work space, and has helped guide me through the process!
The head is almost ready to be furred, but that's a different story.
I chose not to create Rivkah as my first ever fursuit for a few reasons:
1. I don't want to screw up while making a fursuit of my closest, most personal character.
2. Canine heads look a lot easier to shape than house cat heads imho. It has to do with the longer muzzle, I think.
3. I really like the idea of Rivkah being my "fursona" or whatever, and my "fursuiting character" being a separate entity. I would like to think of Rivkah as just a fuzzy cat version of myself. Judy, on the other hand, I'd be able to act out. I'd be able to take on her character when suiting. I'd be a lot more punky and outgoing, I feel, if I were a character that had those traits (which Judy does).
4. Rivkah has long-ish hair, and I don't like the look of long hair on fursuit heads. When making short hair on fursuits, you can use the fur as the hair, and Blarmajin said she has some cool sparkly blue fur (as can be seen on Chaya's head that she made, I believe). Since Judy has a blue mohawk, that would be perfect!
Anyway.
Yeah.
I re-did the idea of my old character Judy (who's a punk/runt olololololRamones) and started making her fursuit head.
Here's the sketch I started out with.
She's going to be a kind of wolf-dog (husky) hybrid thing I think.
She's got mostly purple fur and the blue hair and her muzzle and tummy/front of her neck are grey.
I'm making only a partial of her because THERE IS NO FUCKING WAY IN HELL I'M GETTING INTO A FULLSUIT FOR MORE THAN ABOUT THIRTY SECONDS. I hear it's hot in there. >:C

Nah, I don't think I'd be able to do it even then. I barely like to dress warmly when it's winter time. I hate winter coats because they're too hot and puffy. When I'm outside for an extended period of time (like not driving/sitting down/needing flexibility in my upper body) then I'm okay with winter coats, but they just don't work too well for me if I'm moving. :<
Also, if it's winter, I don't want to be out in a fullsuit and get my fur all snowy and/or slushy/muddy.
I'm a wicked temperature-sensitive/sensory-integration-issues kind of person, and I just don't want to be in a fullsuit ever because I wouldn't be comfortable in it. (When I was younger I even had a hard time dealing with those overalls-shaped snow pants!)
