Something truly terrifying happened this Friday the 13th, folks.
Kyell Gold wrote a straight romance. With humans (and werewalfs). Human girls.
Reeling in shock and confusion, I accidentally (almost) painted boobs (almost).
Terrifying.
The book (which is super fun!) is available as an ebook from the good folks at amazon right here. It's also scheduled to go up on Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Google shortly -- I'll post relevant links once those happen!
If you're looking for a page-turner with supernatural thrills, werewolf sex, and murder most foul, then you're welcome.

I'm stunned.
Not by the woman, but by making a nearly symmetrical composition look utterly gorgeous. The way you replicated the leather jacket's texture in the low key and blending it into the fur passages of the wolf, then tying back in the highlights of its eyes into the background and skin colors of the woman is just plain out smart in your use of composition and color choices. Then again, you do know your shit enough to teach a panel and beyond.
I read through Gurney's books after you recommended them to me, and I became undone. I have learned more from that book than I have in all my color theory and design classes I've taken (I think around or more than 4). I'm not entirely sure if you used a Gamut map, but I don't care you're rocking it, as always. It feels like a tertiary triadic scheme with minor variations.
Her hand's small, crisp shapes man, blaurghghaugh. I love it when skin glows kind of orange.
I do not know what else to say, but I hope it is enough for you to understand how much I want to gush.

Thanks so much for saying so! The last couple of pieces I did (especially the otter in the lake) felt really muddy to me, so I focused on being really deliberate and clean with my tones on this piece. It's super nice to hear someone (especially an excellent painter) mention that is was successful <3

Overview
Valerie is on vacation after a messy divorce leads to a breakdown at work, and despite the warnings of wolves around the upstate New York lake she's visiting, she's determined to relax. Her vacation turns more stressful than her life when she happens upon a man with his throat ripped out, and a young man stumbling away from the scene with an arrow in his side. The young man's handsome features and desperate need overcome her New York City don't-get-involved sense, and she soon finds herself caught between a hunter and his prey.
The hunter insists that the man he's hunting is not just a criminal, but a werewolf. Valerie thinks that's the craziest thing ... See more details below
