A Robot I doodled.
Left leg (leg on the right) is stepping up to move forwards.
I have this whole thing in my head worked out:
The spring piece (on its back) c licks backwards in succession to build suspension for the legs to move. So every time a leg is still, it clicks back once. And every time the robot is stationary, it gradually clicks back until it's wound fully (and kinda looks like an up-turned tail). Then every time a leg moves it pops back a click until the spring is upwards against the robot like seen in the pic (meaning it can only take a few more steps before having to stop and rewind itself). The spring also works to keep the robot balanced so it doesn't tip over in certain circumstances.
Then I have it where the arms and legs are on the same frame. The guns are on a gear adjacent to the 'knee', and can move up or down. It was built this way to make the robot as tight and condensed in armor as possible. You've seen those 4-limbed robots in fight scenes getting their outstretched dangle arms sliced off? This prevents that if it's facing you.
Lastly, the back of the neck has three parts. This, in the pic, is currently open. It can be folded up over the 'head' piece to provide more protection. The head piece, during this added protection, folds back slightly into the neck itself.
As for size, you can see the outline of a person in the eye. =D
See? Fun stuff.
