HAHA! I turned Kovu into Taka. Sorta. :D Since there's no official design for cub Scar, I can has some creative freedom. This is the way I see him.
When I saw this new Kovu plushie I instantly thought instead of Taka. Kovu's colors are darker, anyway...the plushie's a little off for him. They also made his mane tuft and tail tuft too light, but that's okay. It worked in perfectly with my plans. :D
So, first I colored his tail tuft black. I thought about coloring the mane tuft too, thing is...it doesn't really LOOK that much like a mane to me, just scruffy fur (like cub Simba has) since the color is so close to the base fur color. So, I left that alone. Also, for the fact that when I draw young cub Taka I don't give him a mane tuft (I don't give young cub Mufasa one, so why would his younger brother have one)?
Then I fixed the most obvious and annoying thing this plushie had to offer...the white eyes! For some reason, the Kiara and Kovu plushies had white eyes, nevermind the fact that Simba and Nala from the same line have yellow. I knew I was fixing that right away, haha.
I gave him ear rims, much like cub Simba. Why? It's just my opinion that this is a male cub thing, and the reason Kovu's were smaller/on the inner ear is because he was older than Simba was in the first movie. When I draw cub Mufasa I leave these off and/or draw smaller inner rims (like Kovu has) since he's the older brother. Taka is younger, so he gets ear rims. :D
I also just slightly darkened the upper outer eye rims, I was afraid of messing something up there so I was extra careful.
And last but not least, claws! I only did the front paws, looks better that way. Who knows why he always has his claws out, but he didn't look Taka/Scar enough without them.
So there we have it, Kovu turned into Taka/Scar. First attempt at anything along these lines, not very impressive I know, but I sorta like it.
I HAS A TAKA PLUSHIE. :D
PS: The stand up behind him there is my new TLK wall sign/poster that walmart let me have. See it here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7770316/
