The husband and I took a trip to Victoria recently, and I was absolutely fixated on going to a butterfly garden in the middle of March.
The little chart I have for the species doesn't have one that looks quite like this guy, so I'm not sure so much what kind of butterfly he is. The closest thing I see to his pattern and wing type is called a Common Mormon, and only the males have the blue-white and black colouration.
Regardless, he's quite pretty, and I like how he seems all calm. Really pretty colouring on these guys, I thought. If anyone can identify him for me specifically, please let me know, as I'm not sure.

Yeah, the secondary wings (I think that's the term, but not sure) look very similar to the Swallowtail pictures on the cheapy sheet I picked up at the garden.
However, the colouration seems off, as according to the garden, they only had Swallowtails that were of a yellow variant. This said, I have no clue how their breeding program works.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, I really enjoyed getting these photos!
Also, thank you for the link, I'll definitely use it to see if I can better ID my other photos. This looks to be a great asset.
On a completely off topic note, I absolutely love your avatar! Sherlock is such a great show!

I really appreciate that you'd pass along the link, actually. I don't see many who would take the time to do so (well, aside of random silly argument justifications).
As for Sherlock, I absolutely love the BBC's take on Conan Doyle, it's refreshing, witty, and too engaging for it's own good. I'm late on that bandwagon, not having cable and living under a rock in a pop culture sense. I caught all of Season 1 on Netflix about three months before Season 2 launched. Ha-ha, I ended up staying up way later than anticipated and was trashed for work the next day.
I'll do my best to keep up the photos. It's a newer hobby for me, but I'm vastly enjoying it!

Feh, I like comments! They're how I meey new and interesting people on sites like this!
I'm not big on the forum side of FA, as I am someone fond of drama-avoirdance. So comments and notes are how I chatter with people.
Thank you again for that link, I think I shall spend far too much time there.
