SO. Sunday I had a pretty bad glitch happen to me and my boyfriend's Skyrim game. We're basically stuck with an invincible NPC that we can never get rid of... which sucks because we really miss our wife. D: So I sent in a glitch report and this comic to hopefully explain our situation to the bug fixers.
We love Farkas like crazy but... no. We mostly play the game alone or with Iona and Lydia so... this is not a happy time.
We already got a response from the bug fixers and hopefully we'll either be able to fix it with the instructions they gave us (we're not holding out hope, but who knows!) or there will be a bug fix for poor Thyra soon!

"Dragon Seekers" with Vilkas or Farkas.
Basically: Ask Vilkas or Farkas for work, they talk about wanting to kill a dragon, tell them you'll help, go kill dragon. Save for when we "go kill dragon" the dragon isn't there and I'm stuck with Farkas. D:
It's just a little random quest you could get with the Companions after you're in-charge of them. It's a pretty rare one actually.

Oooh I guess I never finished all that up with the Companions to get that far XD lol that and I've not played for eons. I just remember a quest I did with Sven waaaay back that he got sliced by some blades, pinned in the wall and just GONE. I was like WTF and went to get Lydia and she was like naw naw you got someone else with ya! But found out after like waiting 3-5 days your companion leaves and you can get a new one XD
Hmmm we'll try it and see how that goes... that's one of the fixes the person who answered my inquire said.
See, I think what's up with us is just slightly different. With Farkas being stuck with us, not so much just missing or "not with us" I'm not sure if we can get rid of him. Tell me, the quest was specifically FOR Sven and that's why he was with you, and when he left, were you able to go back to him and get him again/did you fail the quest or wha? O:

Sven was just my companion buddy at the time I thiiink :o And he jsut got sucked into the nothingness and poof :D Sometimes Lydia would just get lost too and after a few days I could take a new buddy. Tho at one point where I didn't realize I did it but I told them to wait somewhere...wonder if you did that to Farkas on accident? XD Good luck either way XD
I'm not sure, its INCREDIBLY hard to get, I've had it happen once, a friend of mine has had it happen, and I saw a .gif of it a year ago. It's the best thing I've ever seen, but it's really hard to find, I don't think I'd be able to find evidence of it, sadly. It's really awesome though, but since the mammoth is dead you can't kill it, so it's an indestructible flying corpse that breathes fire and eats children.
