Forbic convinced  Evoc to buy me a copy of Minecraft some time back. I had my initial fears, not just in the fashion that is shown in the picture, but also because at the time, I thought it was mostly just open-sandbox build-stuff-just-to-watch-it-burn and had no actual gameplay value, aside from survival.

Well, in recent updates, they've made it rather interesting, with actual game elements I can enjoy, like exploring and finding dungeons, villages, strongholds and the like, and other assorted fun things. There's just one problem...

With how bad my internet is, whenever me and Forbic try to play, we either encountered one of two problems. One being that the game would often fail to render certain areas, resulting in abyss' of doom that you could fall into and then become frozen in place forever. The second being the game would load fun but the lag made it unplayable.

And then, I found out why some people hate creeps the way they do. But to an extreme.

I had a fair share of moments of creeper be creepin' while playing with Forbic, but in a single player game, me trying to build my own little castle, one of the worst things happened.

As I was building the corner of one of my towers, I neglected to put a torch in one area, and immediately heard the infamous hiss. I tried to back up to face the foe, but before I could do anything, the bottom half of my new tower had a hole makeover. That put out two additional torches, and the game really put a 'fu-k you' effort forth, spawning -7- additional creepers in a span of 5 seconds. Hiss hiss hiss hiss - and then I had no more right side to my castle. I was wearing diamond armor, so personal body harm was minimal, but it only got more tragic as the night went. One single untorched area quickly became my entire castle. By morning, and the last of the hissy booms cleared, 9 nights in-game worth of placing blocks became a rubbled ruin. And this was on the lowest difficulty setting, that allowed enemies to still spawn.

Yes, I do know of the mods and plugins that nerf creeper abilities and such, but I wanted to play it vanilla and see how far I could go. 9 maps out of 10, I either get bored or, when I get an interest, it's quickly killed off by creepers spawning because I don't put a torch every three spaces.
