That night he took me to a nice Jazz club just up the road from our motel, which was perfect, because it meant that we could simply walk back to where we wanted to go, and the good lord knows that I was not going to skimp out on having drinks tonight.
The music was absolutely fantastic, and for a bar, the food was pretty good too. He and I danced through most of the night. I was surprised to find that he was quite talented on the dance floor. It was a side of him I had never seen before, and needless to say, I really enjoyed it.
Together we downed drink after drink until we could barely dance without tripping over each other. It's been a long time since I heard him laugh the way he was every time we did something idiotic and it was like music to my ears.
For once, we felt happy and free from the bonds of work and all other responsibilities, and I knew thats how he wanted me to feel. I also learned that he was quite...touchy. The more he drank, the less he was able to keep his paws off of me. Not that I complained, mind you, I enjoyed it way more than I probably should have, but it's not like it mattered anyways. Tomorrow, we were coworkers again, but tonight, we were something completely new.
