So yeah in case you're new to my ANTICS you're unaware of these things I made up called Shadow Wraiths (holy shit original as fuck) that are basically things made of dark matter that can alternate into human forms CONVENIENTLY. Here are two of mine and two of my girlfriend's characters, all being their shadowy selves and showing off the fact that they come in all different shapes and forms. In order from left to right, there's:
Antetsumen, the first wraith that I've fully developed,
Kevin, a normal human that Ant "inseminated" with dark mattery goodness,
Spiral, who is like Ant in the fact that he was born a wraith, and
Xavier, another former human that went black and never went back. Yes he has 5 fingers on each hand.
I did this in Paint because I love me some pixels, mmmboy.

Well I mean every person that is into dark and creepy things have a tall, thin, glowing eyes and mouth shoadow creature.
Heck, these things look like these things from Kingdom Hearts 2: http://images.wikia.com/kingdomhear.....rtless_300.gif
I'm not trying to be mean, I'me just making a point.
There's not much you can do with a solid black character with glowing eyes and a mouth.

Believe me, I'm quite familiar with the Kingdom Hearts comparison. Honestly I think this: images.wikia.com/kingdomhearts/images/c/c3/Neoshadow_HT.png is closer (without the veins and musculature of course). I've stated several times that these guys aren't too removed from said trope you've listed above, but they have a unique element of their own, I like to think. I've invested a lot of thought and care into these guys, despite their simple, rather overplayed look, and would be upset to see them used for, and it is my turn to apologize for sounding mean, shallow and sexual appeal.

Okay then.
I just say this, don;t come to my page and see that I have created a shadow character and claim that I stole it from you, because like I said, there is only so much that can be done with this pattern.
I do pride myself in trying to be unique, but some things offer so little amount to work uniqueness into.

Oh, I'm sorry if I brought that on. =C
But it's hard now-a-days to come up with a creative idea as most everything HAS been done.
Especially with a subject like a shadow creature like this.
I mean at a glance some might even say these look like Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas.
And really my character is more lacking in creativity than yours:

How many people have blue and white cats with pink hair? I've seen at least 5.
Does that make it bad? No. Just embrace it. These guys are awesome, I mean they inspired me to make something similar.
And if it makes you feel any better, when I DO make a shadow creature it will have the basic form of the picture I just linked to you.
Again sorry if I made you feel bad here.

lol, I grew up with Tim Burton films all throughout my childhood. I have a really old picture of Ant greeting Jack that I drew.
I'm not always trying to be the most special snowflake, I just like to be set apart from others every now and then. I'm not worried about others ripping off a design that, in itself, has been done many times, I guess I just got upset at the fact that I was reminded of how simple my imaginative process is.

Well think of it like this, YOUR picture inspired me.
Not the Kingdom Hearts Heartless enemies, not this artists shadow creatures, not the ones from a book, anime, cartoon, movie, video game, no, YOURS inspired me.
I mean there's nothing wrong with drawing some character that was inspired by something else, that kind of what I do.
So to me, these guys and gals you drew are unique and special in that they inspired me. =3

Omg holy shit that's incredible. Could you draw my fursona with gargantuan breasts too? http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/.....GurgleGash.png
Aww. Ant with his little Shadow buddies. Since I knew Antetsumen before learning about the whole KH STUFFS, I don't see them similar to Heartless at all. Tim Burton, sure, but not Heartless. Heartless are little shadow Chibies that come in different shapes and elements, and they only come in one, possibly two colors if I imagine correctly(HA! Probably not). I dunno, the whole Shadow Wraith thing still seems pretty original to me since the only similar thing I have seen are the things they keep getting compaired to so I say keep up the awesomeness. Love seeing some new stuff(or familiar characters in my case) from ya.
Other than Ant, Xavier is my favorite with all his little shadow parts the look like little cobwebs all over his body. Cute!

Yeah, I wouldn't know that. I don't play Kingdom Hearts, mostly because I can't get into the plot, it takes too long and I started way to late with it, same goes with Final Fantasy. Anyways, I do love the way Ra designed him, and I hope to see more of them all. Makes me wish I could make one of these things, but I need to get a shit ton better at drawing, first.
Back to what I was saying before, keep up the great work. I love seeing ya doing things for here and for yourself.
