Edit: Ctrl+F5 for crisper image. Thanks.
This would be my "personal" character, or "fursona": an anthro north american cave lioness. Her full name is Pyralis Solara Atrox. She is a combination of all things I like and symbols I identify with: such as big cats & prehistoric creatures, fantasy(weapons and the like), fire, strong female figures, my favorite colors and so on. She's sort of a personal symbol of strength and determination for me. The character is a warrior that has the ability to wield flame as her main power. She generates her powers from stars (such as our sun) , which is why she is the warrior (or guardian) of the celestial flame :B
While I was listening to this awesome song , I sketched out this image :) --it was my main inspiration for this piece. I pictured her leaving a battle field with her shield in hand and sword sheathed. This was my first time drawing and rendering detailed armor and weapons, it's great fun :)
Having finished this makes me excited to finish her ref sheet. I am also glad I decided to dabble some more in digital art again. It's always a fun and excellent learning experience.
You will be able to purchase a LE print of this in the Anthrocon Artshow.
Thank you for looking, and I hope you enjoy <3

Yes, alittle bit of sharpening could help :3
It was difficult to determine how much detail I wanted to put overall, on the armor (even despite the logic of some of it being closer to the viewer) because I didn't want to take away from my focal point( the face and hair --being the most textured/saturated)
Thank you :B

heehee! Yes I have to say her new armor is slightly influenced by Skyrim ;D -the game has overall been a huge inspiration for my art lately.
Well, its always /really/ been her name. I got a bit conflicted about calling her Sekhmet alone because it confused people into thinking she was the goddess Sekhmet(which I totally don't blame them for). I now more see Sekhmet as my "artist name" and Pyra is my fursona's "official" name in her story :) --that way in the story she will have a more original name and won't confuse readers either. I figured it would be for the best.
Thanks for the feedback!

Very lovely. The detail to the face is wonderful. I found myself a bit sad that the facial details were so crisp and the armor/the far arm were not so crisp, but the entire piece as a whole is beautiful. Very fierce. It's very nice to see you working more with digital. Being an owner of one of your traditional pieces, I can see a bridging of a gap between the two, where your digital work is starting to look a lot like your traditional in style, and that's great to see. Very lovely work.
Thank you!
I am certainly not claiming I made the best choice, perhaps a bit more "crispness" could have been added. But my reasoning for not /super detailing everything/ is the fact that too much detail often gets way too distracting, and I felt that alternating between crisp/ blurry would add more contrast to areas of interest. I used to over-render everything, so I gave it a shot to do the opposite for once. I was worried the focal point wouldn't be obvious anymore if the viewer's eye is bouncing everywhere. So thats my reasoning behind it! I appreciate your feedback --thanks!

Pyra is still continues to be schockingly beautiful as ever, and stil as badass as well. And I love how georgous as ever her body is even when it's covered in full-body armor. The detail to the fur in her cheeks, cheek floofs, neck, and the top of her head, and how they are thicker than the fur on most of her face.
The armor suit has very georgeous detail for it and has a mature, classy ladylike feel to it even if it is worn for wars and batlles. It's wonderful up around the chest area with ruby-colored jewerly accenting the colllar of the suit. Having the collar that connecting chainmail drape over the top of the armored bosom is awesome. The crown and earrings are very teriffic. The way Pyra seems to snarl after her fighting appears to inspire me not to mess her off in a bad way. The use of deep red in the background and shield seems to match well with the mood of the picture, in my opinion. It's nice to see your fursona again, and I love the name change.

Yeah I decided to not make her so scantily-clad. I wanted armor that realisticly protects her.
If you notice on her really old ref sheets, the name has always been present. Got a bit conflicted about calling her Sekhmet alone because it confused people into thinking she was the goddess Sekhmet(which I totally don't blame them for). Wise choice with the full, high neckline design. Having a fantasy warrioress wear a bikini may look ravashing to male readers in comic books, but it's not a smart thing to wear in some fight or battle with swords, axes, spears and such cutting away at her. *ouch ouch*. But Pyra still manages to look hot and attractive in the armor despite its practicalness for fighting and that it covers her up completely with only the head exposed neverless. I feel it has to do that despite being made of metal, it fits around her bosom and dipping down the rest of her front torso beautifully. That and again the chainmail mess over the breasts accent the attire neatly. But still the suit looks very badass and serious; very practical for war as it is pretty and ordinate. It's saying something like "I'm ready to fight" and it is hard too take too lightly a woman clad in high-neckline armor. You got to respect her.
At any rate, Pyra always looks good in anything in my frank opinion, whenever she's naked, half nude in any way, in a cleavage-revaling dress, in anything fullly covered high-neckine. I'd like to see more pictures if possible involving the armor. I'm happily surprised with myself that this is the first time I favored a picture of a female character I've found alluring with no exposed cleavage nor topless.

I prefer traditional stuff, has that flair of the real thing to me. But it's hard to belief that digital stuff is so new to you, this is one of the best I've seen all over the place.
By the way, I would overwhelm you with commissions so you'd never be able to do your ref sheet if I could XD

Ah gotcha, very cool :) Does suit her as you always related her to the power of fire and the sun. When her hair isnt a glow is it just blond? i say this because i do plan on drawing her again (or trying to) and my fire drawing capabilities arent refined at the moment lol but another thing i need to work on. Every time i tried to color fire it looks like friggen feathers haha
