This is the beginning of a tattoo design for my friend. She wants a sturgeon. This is a relatively generic sturgeon, basically I just took the parts she liked from some different types. It'll go on her thigh, taking up most of the side, curling around her butt and around her hip a bit. See, the tail tapers into a whip, but I drew this too big/too high on the page to add that, so that'll get added later on.
So yeah, that's about that.
We originally planned for me to become a tattoo artist, do some more simple work on her, a haida back piece, a ribbon around her other thigh, various things and work up my skills to a point where I could do this piece justice, and then I'd do this, but well, who knows how long that'll take.
I'm going to make her wait until we find a good enough shop though, just because this as so much potential. I sound so conceited saying that, but I really think this is a good image and in the right hands could be a jaw dropping tattoo.
