After talking with jakebe, he changed his commission to a conbadge. Jakebe has been a model customer, patient and true. I do apologize for making him wait 3 months for his commission (there has been a lot of interruptions). I quickly wiped it out yesterday. He asked for his Jackalope self dressed I Buddhist monk robes meditating. Well, being a Jackalope, and some scientific doubt as to whether such creatures can actually sit still long enough to meditate I made him “Meschivously Meditating”, I call it, “Not quite Ommm...”

Though on rare occasion I will drop the dough and get much nicer stuff like Arches Hot Press 300lbs Watercolor Board, or the like. Its all about tooth (or texture). I like the high tooth (rough texture) of the strathmore 400 series. Tough after recently working seriously on the smooth surface of Hot Press I might invest in more of that. With watercolors the surface can effect the feel of the paint and the out come.

Yes,
Hot Press is smoother, and depending on brand can have varying degrees of smoothness. Cold Press is rougher, but there are brands that have a smoother roughness and others that are even rougher. It all depends on what you like to work with or the effect you are going for.
