...Dude, they are encountered -nearly- the same way, but you definitely have no idea what you're talking about.

MISSINGNO. and 'M have different RAM offset and hex values, and are encountered differently using -nearly- but not the -same- code.

yes, and a random wiki site where your info from is truth, how can m block be the leftover code, and missingno be a failsafe if they are BOTH encountered in the same ways, and do the same thing?

1. 'M is a glitch. MISSINGNO. is leftover code. MISSINGNO. has dual types and moveset programmed.
2. They CAN be encountered the same way. So can Pidgey and Rattata, but those aren't the same, are they? When you do the Old Man glitch, it saves broken data in the RAM. 'M and MISSINGNO. are found differently based on your character's name. It's either one or the other, not both.
3. The random wiki site is the number one Pokemon Wiki, which ALSO has a forum which has a PROJECT called GlitchDex dedicated to finding all of the glitches in every Pokemon game.
4. I am a hacker. I have encountered many of these glitches myself.
5. MISSINGNO. and 'M evolve differently, have different RAM values, and provide different side effects. They do NOT do the same thing. 'M has a little bit of what MISSINGNO. does, but it's more of a monster on it's own. 'M can not be transferred safely to Pokemon Yellow unless you try to get it using the 44hy or Q glitch. MISSINGNO. will transfer just fine.

MISSINGNO. can cause glitches.
