The Realms Beyond... (Epic Instrumental)
It's been awhile since I've submitted anything epic sounding, so I give you this! This is for a part of my book where the main character, in a realm between this world and the next, must decide whether to move on or to go back and face Ghaust, the antagonist. Done on fl studio using reFX Nexus, Alchemy, and effects.

This is pretty cool, and because you don't know me, I wouldn't say anything if I didn't like it, so keep that in mind.
There's a lot of feeling of wonder, and maybe some dread in this, which is awesome. But much of the song up until the last 24 seconds feels a bit like a wall of sound. It opens up pretty nicely there at the end, and obviously, starts off with fewer elements. My guess is that it's more about the levels of the instruments than the instruments themselves.
I just wanted to say that because the opening (until about 45 seconds in) and the ending are really open, but as we get into the meat of it, particularly around 2:12, it just feels like all these awesome elements are fighting each other for space.

I get what you're saying and honestly I just have no training in frequencies and opening up tracks yet... thus this song sounds a bit muddy. I'd love to learn, but right now my main focus is on CNA training and later college and Nursing School, so learning anything related to music will have to wait until then. Thank for the critism though, it really helps me to improve! =)
No problem. I know perfectly well how it is with all the other things in life. Good luck in your medical training!
For what it's worth, I'm not a musician anyways-I've just lived with one all my life, and being an artist tends to make one think about composition and compositional elements all the time.

Thought I might let you know that
lazarcotoron nailed it with the criticism.

Well, I do use a laptop instead of a desktop so that could be an issue, but I'd warrant the majority is my lack of voice knowledge to manipulate the frequency range... which I will learn! In two years after I finish Nursing school and become an RN, assumung I'm not broke by the end of two years, haha.
