I finally came up with the main refugee species Okuku (finally, meaning when I drew this picture many months ago lol). Seeking refuge on Rikon, they continue to give great importance to plant-life calling plants 'passive creatures'. The plants don't use water, but use a unique chemical natural to the planet that, although fairly hazardous to most, helps the plants of Rikon to grow in size and flourish.

Okuku are smooth skinned and stand on two legs like many evolved celestial peoples. Their 'hair' is a living part of their bodies, so it isn't cut, but groomed. Their eye and horn color varies, and the tone of their skin and hair varies as well. Okuku are resistant to the hazardous effects of the liquid chem so they use it as a food and liquid source, sharing it with the plants. They have four ears, two that help with the front and sides, and two that hear behind them. The horn on females' heads can sense minute changes in the weather and is used to foretell natural changes in the climate. Although Okuku do use plants for things like medicine, they do so sparingly and with appreciation for the plants.


Risharre, a minor Okuku character, loves and takes good care of her plants. She is very sweet to them, but quite cold to aliens, and even other Okuku. If you hurt her flowers, she'll defend them quite vigorously. Mature enough to understand, and skillful enough to handle, she makes some of the best medicine around, but is reluctant to make any. The flower she wears in her hair she calls Olyla and takes particularly good care of and keeps it in her hair any time she's awake.



Yeah, that's what I do when I make a species of something. Too much writing, but it gives ya a good scope of any new additions. It also sounds all smart and stuff, hee hee! So yeah, takes a bit of writing and thought, but I think it's important to do! Otherwise ya get all mixed up with character personalities, and species facts! Oh, also it's a dang good pic if I do say so myself. In terms of my own talent, anyway! ;D

OKUKU ARE ADORABLE!! But they're also refined and elegant! Even if their values seem a little extreme sometimes and they're sometimes very stubbern.
