An excuse to plug what I think is the best prog album I've heard in the last five years - Haken's "Aquarius." Absolutely beautiful stuff that I could listen to over and over.
Anyway, it's a concept album, and the story is about a mermaid who gets caught and treated like a freak -- until it's discovered that, you know, the ice caps are melting and her blood might have an element to turn us all into mer-people and thus help us survive. Well, okay, it's a fantasy thing, but very affecting and well-done, with marvelous musical sections and soaringly sublime vocals.
So, in sort of tribute, here are the mer-Newshounds. With waterproof gloves, I guess.
