A reference sheet for that rambunctious little hatchling, Arc!
The Beginning:
Arc started out as a detached soul, intertwined with Frost's, taking refuge within his body and mind, lying dormant. It's unknown how this came to be, but it was discovered that the soul itself was close to 2,000 years old when it was entrapped within, with no clear answer to how, when, or why it was there. Draco Darastrix noticed the conflicting presence of two different souls within the human, one youthful and slowly maturing, while the other was childish and ancient. Upon breaking Frost's physical body down, Draco carefully untangled the two from each other, reforming Frost's body, while the other soul began to take on a shape of its own. In the aftermath where previously there was one, there was now two, a human, and a dragon hatchling. Draco, having just taken a part in its creation, dubbed the new creature Arcaniss. Arc, instinctively feeling drawn to his host, adopted Frost as a new parental figure, and thus their relationship began, May 27, 2007, with a confused and mostly oblivious human looking after and taking care of a hyperactive voracious hatchling. Arc proved to be a talented predator, taking lessons from both Draco and Spencer, and ironically, protecting Frost from many potential threats that would come their way.
Personality:
Even four years after being re-created, Arc still exhibits a very childish mindset, though that's not to say that he's gained no wisdom or intellect. Arc sees the world as an exciting strange place, ripe for exploration. While ignorant on most mature or complex subjects, he has demonstrated a quick aptitude for learning, often thinking of things as a game. Arc has been shown to be friendly and outgoing, often very quick to trust, and difficult to anger and agitate. The only thing that really tends to get under his skin is people attempting to hurt Frost, at which point his friendly demeanor drops, and the little dragon assumes a more aggressive, instinct driven mentality, quickly dealing with the threat, after which point he tends to calm down and regain his gentile composure. Arc is usually very active, often sprinting about, pouncing on anyone he runs across with no warning, and requesting to play with people. After lengthy spurts of activity, he's usually seen lounging about, often finding someone to curl up against/on top of. in order to nap.
Abilities:
Arc possesses most of the natural abilities one would assume a dragon to have, just scaled back due to his age, including, a durable and resistant scaly hide, keen eyesight, well developed sense of smell, sharp teeth, retractable claws, and flight.
Arc also has an ice based breath weapon, although he seldom uses it. Its usage is limited by the amount of air the small dragon can store in his lungs, usually resulting in a small burst of frigid air that causes numbness upon contact. Upon taking a deep breath and releasing Arc has been able to form ice crystals, and on the rare occasion, cover a portion of something in ice, though this ice appears to be non-magical in nature, and therefore subject to all the adverse affects, such as frostbite and nerve damage, probably explaining why Arcaniss so seldom uses this ability, especially upon living creatures.
Arc also seems to be able to conduct electricity via his horns, first noticed when the small dragon was struck by lightning, with no visible damage done to Arc himself. Arc has expressed extreme discomfort at this sensation and seemed much more active and aware afterwards. This has also lead Arc to be quite fearful of thunderstorms, immediately seeking shelter upon any indication that a storm is approaching.
Biology:
Arc's build is shown to be that of a feral nature, although he has adapted to, and is quite accustomed to walking only on his hind legs, only dropping to all fours when he has a need to move quickly. His tail seems to play a minor role in keeping Arc balanced when standing up straight, distorting his trajectory slightly when it's being preoccupied with other things. Arc possesses a very powerful set of jaws, able to exert the pressure to rival the weight of a small car when needed, but his jaw is also quite flexible, being able to stretch quite a good deal when the need arises. The same also seems to be true for his rib cage, which while small and compact, has been seen to dislodge itself fairly far while channeling meals. The most interesting part of Arc's biology though, would be his digestive tract. While most creatures digestive systems work by breaking down organic material into a form the body can make use of, Arc cannot digest any organic material. Instead, he siphons excess body heat off of the creatures he devours, though this is an extremely inefficient way of maintaining energy, and derives no nutrients of any such. As a result, Arc often requires large amounts of living creatures to be in his stomach, which is possible due to his anatomy. Arc has two stomachs, one is small, but very durable and stretchy, capable of storing one medium sized creature without severely impeding Arc's movement. This stomach is able to break down normally inedible items, such as rocks, dirt, wood, etc.. And is the only known way for Arc to derive any sort of nutritional or vitamin like sustenance. His other stomach, possesses fourth dimensional like qualities, being much much larger on the inside than the organ is on the outside. When actually inside, the space seems to stretch on for miles and miles, with seemingly no end in sight. This is the stomach from which Arcaniss siphons off the necessary body heat he needs to maintain himself. Usually after a few days of prolonged time in this stomach, Arc's body will work it's strange dimensional space, distorting the creature out of the stomach, a few miles away. Because of the bizarre method of gaining energy, Arc's body produces no waste. It seems likely that Arc's lightning rod like horns is yet a third way of obtaining energy.
Miscellaneous:
Arc has also been shown to be afraid of party hats.... For some strange, unexplained reason.
Arc does not seem particularly fond of tea.
Arc greatly enjoys the taste of regular food, despite not being able to digest it.
Hugs from Arc are very nice.
I swear, that hoodie is not actually a dragon in disguise.
Yeah, that's about it for now.
