Are you sure she's a Gshep and not a Malinois?

or that's what the rescue place told us

She looks like a Belgian Malinois to me. If she was part Chow she'd be very fluffy and very large, and her muzzle would not look like that, Chows have shorter fatter muzzles and big jowels.

Belgian Malinois are very often mistaken for Gsheps, as they have very similar builds, temperaments, and colouring, and also much of the same uses; the Malinois and the Gshep tie for most used breed for Police K9s in the US.

i see what you mean o u o they do look very similar

though my dog does have a somewhat purple tongue which leads us to believe that she's part chow anyway. The vet/rescue people said she was a german shephard and chow so maybe she's a belgain malinois/chow mix? @0@

it's there because she pulls excessively when we go for walks and tries to attack other dogs (which is a lot of pulling power since she's about as big as a german shephard)

I've used it with both a tiny, old (13) Toy Poodle and a large hyperactive and male-aggressive 2 year old Dalmation and never had a problem with them afterwards.
