For Penny-Dragon VIA this month's fantasy-xchange
I was told to draw a 'fantasy deer' and given complete free reign of the design. I hope ki'rins are deer-ey enough since if you ask me to draw a fantasy deer, nine times out of ten it will probably end up being a ki'rin. They're my favorite mythological beasts next to gryphons. >_<
The theme for this month was 'colors', where we had to use a specific color scheme given to us by the person we're drawing for. One of my options was greens. The color scheme for this picture was based on this one over at ColourLovers.com (GREAT site if you need inspiration for color palattes).
Anyways, I may end up swiping this design for my fictional universe as different breeds of ki'rin show up on both planets Thera and Assari.
Tools Used: Mechanical Pencil, Paper, Scanner, Photoshop, Paint Tool Sai
Time Taken: 4 Hours
