Well...its not furry....BUT, it is still awesome. I like to take pride in my projects, and as you see my latest completion is a home-made wooden Bokken Sword. This is only a part of a costume I am putting together. It only took me three days to complete.
1st day) Cut wood, glued thin strips together and let dry.
2nd day) Sanded down wood into sword shape....used wood fill in indentations....spray painted 4 coats. 2 coats were a white primer.
3rd day) drilled holes in handle, added braided pattern.
I learned how to braid the handle grip pattern by watching a youtube step-by-step guide. It was hard to figure out how to start...but once I got the hang of it, I was done in seven minutes.
This sword is very sturdy, sharp and still just as dangerous as any pointed weapon. I would not use it as a toy, but rather just a display piece or prop for costumed events.
Will I offer trades and commissions for this nifty item? You pet your boots :-P.
Soon I will start making anime swords.
