Here's a weird song.
Haven't recorded in a while because of technical difficulties, but HERE YA GO!
This is "mine". It has weird chord changes, weird rhythms, and a weird solo.
You probably won't like it, but I do. And that's what matters right?
Tell me why YOU don't like it in the comments :D
Lyrics:
I had another inner vision
of where I am and which pills to take
goin’ through the most trivial of information
where do I live, what is my name?
Chorus:
I had the time, they had the place
Don’t tell me I don’t know what is real
eclipsing, reason and space, I will
take this pain and I will make it mine
try to put the words into my feelings
like scoopin a well with a plastic spoon
I could be the one to answer all your questions
or at least have the might, to take the weight off of your mind,
help me hurt like you, I’m still walking
fall, staggerin’ down another staircase, I want it
hopeless clinging to an idea, you give me
everything, everything, yeah everything you can, I only wanna,
thank you, for givin’ me a chance

Maybe I just think it's weird. Rather, the first 3 people I showed it to called it weird.
I really wanted to feature my guitar work and write something that needed to be acoustic + vocals only.
Yeah my lyrics fluctuate between very relateable and seeming nonsense. I'm trying to find that balance between catchiness and poetry. Not too simple, but not so weird that it's not memorable.
They're really vague, but it's so I don't give away some of my personal life hehehe. They make perfect sense if you're... me. Selfish writing. Works sometimes, other times sounds like whining.
Thank you for the thoughtful listen-through and comment AND for telling me who deleted their comment X3 That always nags at my mind.

Contemplating the lyrics of this a quote just happened to come to mind
from the songwriter of one of my other favorite bands:
"People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that's bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they're wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It's all in how you carry it. That's what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you're letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain." – Jim Morrison

I totally want to give you a proper comment as you seem a guy who enjoys feedback. First to flatter you, but I've been listening to this song, over, and over, and over. It's really just a nice song to listen to over and again. I'm no music expert, but the simple singing, and guitar just work so well together obviously. You definitely have a good voice about you, good control of it for low, to higher pitches. It has good build ups, and generally is pretty catchy, and something I kind of want to dance to a little :)
I DO enjoy feedback. I'm so glad you like it. I want to try and utilize my low range more. The problem comes in live performance. Low isn't as loud and doesn't come across as clearly in the words, thus why it's used sparingly in my music thus far. That should change though. Simplicity is usually the name of the game for me, and I'm glad to see it work so well in this track. Dancing is always encouraged :3
