Here's Chapter 1 of The Fifth Floor. Rather unusually, it is very much the longest chapter of the story, in fact it's about a third of the length of the entire story.
This whole thing started out as just the flashback portion of this chapter, which was an attempt on my part at writing something in the suspense/horror genre. I finally decided it didn't stand up on its own so I made it part of a bigger story.
If there's any demand for it I will consider posting a "dubbed" version of this chapter where everyone speaks in easily intelligible English.
Incidentally, Chucky is well under a year old, but I made it so he could walk with assistance after my own RL baby cousin starting walking on his own at only nine months old.
